College of Saint Mary has earned the top spot in the 2014-15 MCAC Women's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll released Sunday (Oct. 12).

Saint Mary, which finished the 2013-14 season ranked 11th nationally with a 27-6 overall record, won the regular season MCAC Championship a year ago with a 13-1 mark in conference play. The Flames advanced to the NAIA National Tournament last season, falling in the second round to Morningside College.

Oklahoma Wesleyan University and College of the Ozarks tied for second in the preseason poll.  Oklahoma Wesleyan posted a 22-11 record (12-2 MCAC) a year ago, while Ozarks finished the 2013-14 season with a 27-10 (10-4 MCAC) overall record en route to a runner-up finish at the NAIA National Tournament.  

Rounding out the preseason rankings are York College (4th), Haskell Indian Nations University (5th), Waldorf College (t-6th), Central Baptist College (t-6th) and Central Christian College (8th).
