Senior Maria Ruiz of the Park University women’s soccer team has been named MCAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 21.
A native of Madrid, Spain, Ruiz scored six goals last week, topping the 100-goal mark for her career in the process. She is one of only 10 players in NAIA history to score more than 100 goals in a career. After scoring four goals at York College, Ruiz followed up that performance with two goals and an assist in a 4-2 win over Bellevue University.
Park is 9-4-2 overall and earned a share of the MCAC Regular Season Championship with a 4-1 conference record.
OTHERS NOMINATED: Daniela Padilla (College of Saint Mary) and Paula Spencer (Central Christian College).
