POINT LOOKOUT, MO. – Bellevue University has been picked as the top team in the 2008 MCAC Softball Preseason Coaches’ Poll released Sunday (Feb. 3). 

The Bruins, who posted a 34-8 overall and 13-1 MCAC record in 2007, captured the MCAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships en route to qualifying for last season’s NAIA National Tournament in Decatur, Ala.

Peru State College was selected second in the preseason poll after going 11-3 in league play last season (38-21 overall).  Park University, which compiled a 7-7 MCAC record in 2007 (18-28 overall), earned the No. 3 position in the rankings.

York College (4th), College of Saint Mary (t-5th), Haskell Indian Nations University (t-5th) and Central Christian College (7th) round out the poll.
