Senior Skye Wakefield of Bellevue University has been named MCAC Softball Player of the Week for the week ending March 16.

Wakefield, a native of Omaha, Neb., hit .531 (17-for-32) last week in leading the Bruins to a 5-3 record at the Sun West Tournament, which featured eight games against NCAA Division III opponents.  In a 16-8 win over the College of St. Catherine (Minn.), the center fielder went 4-for-6 with three runs scored and four RBI.

Bellevue, ranked 12th nationally, is 8-5 on the season.
