Junior shortstop Ashley Scates of Park University has been named MCAC Softball Player of the Week for the week ending March 23.

Scates, a native of Independence, Mo., hit .385 (5-for-13) and scored six runs to lead the Pirates to a 3-1 record.  In an 8-3 win at Ottawa University, she went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI.

Park is 6-11 on the season.
