BARTLESVILLE, OKLA. - The Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the 2008-09 All-MCAC Men's Basketball Team over the weekend in conjunction with the 2008-09 MCAC Men's Basketball Tournament in Bartlesville, Okla.
Junior guard Steve Briggs of Oklahoma Wesleyan University was named MCAC Player of the Year after leading the Eagles to conference regular season and tournament titles by averaging 20.13 points per game. Haskell Indian Nations University forward DJ Fish was selected MCAC Freshman of the Year, while Central Christian College junior guard Sean High earned MCAC Newcomer of the Year honors en route to leading all of NAIA Division II in scoring this season (25.25 points per game).
Oklahoma Wesleyan head coach Donnie Bostwick was voted MCAC Coach of the Year, guiding the Eagles to a No. 1 national ranking and a 30-2 overall record (11-1 MCAC).
