Freshman forward Derrick Williams of the College of the Ozarks has been named MCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 11.

Williams, a native of St. Joseph, Mo., averaged 19.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game last week in leading the Bobcats to a 3-0 record.  In wins over the University Saint Francis (79-68) and Alice Lloyd College (98-89), he posted identical statistics of 21 points, five rebounds and two assists in each contest.  For the week, he was 22-of-38 from the field (57.9 percent).

Ozarks is 11-6 overall in 2009-10.
