Junior guard James Parrott of Bellevue University has been named MCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 1.

Parrot, a native of Omaha, Neb., averaged 26.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 2.0 blocks per game last week in leading the ninth-ranked Bruins to a pair of wins.  In an 89-72 win over Carroll College, he had a career-high 35 points, connecting on 6-of-10 three-point field goals.

Bellevue is 10-4 this season.
