Junior guard James Parrot of Bellevue University has been named MCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 8.
 
A native of Omaha, Neb., Parrott averaged 24.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last week in leading the ninth-ranked Bruins to a pair of wins.  In a 102-73 win over Union, he had 34 points on 13-of-15 shooting from the field.  For the week, he made 80.0 percent of his field goals (20-of-25).
 
Bellevue is 12-4 this season.
