Junior goalkeeper Karmin Smith of Southwestern Christian University has been named MCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 9.
Smith, a native of Mustang, Okla., grabbed 16 saves last week over two games for the Eagles. Ina 1-1 tie with St. Gregory's University, she had three saves in 110 minutes of action. Later in the week, Smith had 13 saves in a 2-0 win over Southwestern College.
Southwestern Christian is 1-1-1 this season.
