With over 10 years of experience in the restaurant industry, and an executive chef on yachts for over six years, Matt Burns is passionate about providing five star quality cuisines and service aboard the M/Y Valor. After working in restaurants, and as a cooking instructor in Ottawa, Canada, Matt was introduced to yachting through a friend who was a captain in need of a quality chef for his charter. His career has sent him all over the world including the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, the Adriatic and the South Pacific; and introduced him to celebrity clientele ranging from movie stars, sports stars and businessmen. His travels have kept his skills as sharp as his knives, mastering various cuisines and incorporating the latest food trends into his meals. He enjoys catering to the healthy lifestyles of his clients and is continuing his culinary education in nutrition and baking. When not on charter, Matt enjoys taking his vintage truck on culinary adventures around the US and Canada, discovering local cuisines that he can bring back to his next charter.
