Here's the One Thing Dolores Catania Would Never Talk About with Teresa Giudice

There's one major topic these The Real Housewives of New Jersey pals haven't really talked about.

Dolores Catania and Teresa Giudice have been friends for decades. However, there are still some things that these longtime pals would never, ever talk about.

Long before The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Dolores worked as a corrections officer. Learning that fact prompted Andy Cohen to ask Dolores if she ever gave Teresa any insight into prison before she began her sentence at FCI Danbury in Connecticut at the beginning of 2015. "No. See, I know Teresa [since we were] 16, and there's an unwritten law: Don't talk about what's going on," Dolores said during Wednesday night's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show (clip above). "It's kind of the way we were raised and the way we grew up."

Dolores went on to explain that they were taught to not talk about "personal stuff" unless the other person brought it up. "I'm here if you need me. They know I'm here. Because it stresses them out. It brings it to reality if you talk about it," she shared. "I was raised different. I'm not like that anymore. My life is on TV. But the way [Teresa] was raised, that's the way it is. She kind of never evolves from that."

Unfortunately, Dolores and Teresa's friendship seems to be a little strained this season, due in part to a conversation that may or may not have occurred between Dolores and Danielle Staub. But we're hopeful that their relationship can overcome this challenge, just as they have gotten through some hardships in the past, like when Teresa was away from her loved ones for nearly a year. "I don't see a lot of changes in Teresa. Teresa coming out of Danbury has been — I mean, probably the hardest thing was being there, to be away from her children. And through it all, I always thought of her. On a nice day, I'd be driving around and say, 'Oh, she'd be down the shore with her kids right now. I know today's a hard day for her,'" Dolores opened up to The Daily Dish about her friendship with Teresa last year. "And there were certain milestones that she missed as well, so I think just going through something like that in general makes you not worry about things that would have bothered you in the past. Going through anything in life is — I don't want to say humbling because I don't think everybody needs to be humbled that goes through something bad. But I think that when you go through something life-changing you look at things a lot differently, but changing as a person? I don't think people change."
