A streamlined beauty regimen will save you tons of time. Know what you need to look presentable, plan it out, have everything you need ready to go, and get on with it. Find the products that work for you -- which will likely have nothing to do with price -- and create your personal beauty lineup.
Here’s an inside look at my daily skincare routine. Whether I’m at home or in the Hamptons, the products may change, but the process stays the same.
Choose a good, gentle cleanser and wash your face. Pretty much any brand will do, as long as it’s not harsh on your skin. This is an important step for keeping your skin fresh, clean, and healthy each day.
Next up, toner. As I reveal in my book Skinnygirl Solutions, I used to be a stripper… meaning that I used to strip my skin with astringents and other harsh products. This is not the goal. Instead, find a hydrating toning spray to moisturize and refresh your face.
3. Apply Serum
Many people skip this skincare step, but it’s one of the best things you can do for your skin. Serum goes deeper into your skin to repair damage, provide nutrients, and even help your regular moisturizer work more effectively. Since I have dry skin, I’m very picky about which serum I use.
Finally, moisturize. This part of my routine changes depending on the time of day. In the morning, I use a light day moisturizer. You can get one with SPF for sun protection, or apply sunscreen separately like I do (every day, even if winter and I are back together). At night, I use a rich moisturizer for extra hydration and follow up with a rich eye cream.
